A faulty gearbox ECU (transmission control unit) can put your car into limp mode, stop it selecting gears or fill the dashboard with warnings. We repair the two units we see most often.
9G-TRONIC (725.0) automatic gearbox
The 9G-TRONIC gearbox is fitted to most modern Mercedes-Benz cars, SUVs and vans. When its control unit fails, the car often drops into limp mode or refuses to drive.
7-speed DSG (0GC) dual-clutch gearbox
The DQ381 wet-clutch DSG is fitted to many VW, Audi, Skoda, SEAT and Cupra models. Its mechatronic unit combines the gearbox ECU with the hydraulic controls and is a common cause of DSG faults.

All of our reconditioned transmissions are completely stripped, inspected and cleaned. We install new parts – Gaskets, seals, clutches, piston rings, bands & filter. The valve body is completely stripped, cleaned & vacuum tested to ensure the valves are operating correctly, any worn valves are then reamed and replaced with oversized valves. All our reconditioned transmissions also come with a reconditioned torque converter.
